人気のレストラン「Trattoria Felix」へ 

ロサンゼルスには星の数程無数のレストランがあります。

 

何十年と存続している老舗レストランもあればオープン時こそ人気でもその後人気が衰えてあっという間に閉店なんて

いうレストランが数多くあります。

 

そんな競争の激しいレストラン業界でも急成長をしていてなかなか予約が取れないイタリアンレストランがサンタモニカ

にあるのです。

 

その名は「Trattoria Felix」(トラットリア フェリックス）。

 

やっと予約が取れたから行こう！と旦那さんの友達から声がかかり、先日行って来ました。

 

Trattoria Felixのエントランス。（暗くてわかり辛いですが・・・。）

 

場所はというと・・・。

みなさんご存知の有名なヴェニスビーチから近い、Abbot Kinney（アボット・キニ―）という日本で言う所の

表参道の様なお洒落なブティックやレストランがある通りにあります。

 

 

成長の裏に敏腕女性オーナーあり！

この人気イタリアンレストラン「Trattoria Felix」はラテン語で「Happy」とか「Lucky」という意味があるそう。

 

そんなレストランのオーナーはイタリア系カナダ人のJanet Zuccarini (ジャネット・ズッカリーニ）という名の女性。

彼女のお父さん、Giacomo Zuccarini (ジャコモ・ズッカリーニ）が１９５９年に初めてイタリアからエスプレッソマシンを

輸入し始め、小さなピザを食べさせるカフェをカナダのトロントにオープンした事に遡ります。

 

４０年経って娘のジャネットがズッカーリーニ家の精神、パッション、ホスピタリティを受け継いで

１９９６年にトロントに最初のレストラン「Trattoria Nervosa」（トラットリア・ネルヴォ―サ）をオープン。

 

続いて２０１２年にＧusto101（グースト１０１）、２０１４年にPai Northern Thai Kitchen

(パイ・ノーザン・タイ・キッチン）、２０１５年にケータリングを主にしたGusto54（グースト５４） をトロント市内に

オープン。

 

さらに２０１７年にKiin (キーン）、Chubby’s Jamaican Kitchen (チュビーズ・ジャマイカン・キッチン）、

SameSame（セイムセイム）をトロント市内にそしてロサンゼルスのアボット・キニ―に「Trattoria Felix」をオープン

したという背景が。

 

私が今回行った「Trattoria Felix」は アメリカ国内の流行りのフード、ライフスタイルを紹介するウェブサイトEsquire

の No.1 Best New Restaurantにそして２０１８年にはロサンゼルス市内の流行りのレストランを紹介するウェブサイト

Eater LAのRestaurant of the year にも選ばれているという輝かしい功績を挙げています。

気になる雰囲気、メニューは？

☆お店の雰囲気は？

前置きはここまでにして気になるお店の雰囲気やメニューについてご紹介したいと思います。

 

ネットで「Felix」で検索すると＄（ドルマーク）が４つも付いてるので値段は決して安いレストランでは無い事が

わかります。

 

落ち着いて食事をする大人な雰囲気のレストランを想像しつつ行って見たらなんとカジュアルな雰囲気 

 

カップルで食事というより友達とワイワイシェアしながらという感じというかお店のコンセプトがどうなんだなあと。

 

なので周りのお客様もほぼ9割が４人や６人のグループのゲスト。（因みに一組の最大人数が6名まで）

 

カジュアルな雰囲気の店内。奥にはオープンキッチンが。

グラスワインがグラス１７ドル前後とちょっと高め。

 

感激したのはなかなか置いていないランブルスコ（発砲性の赤ワイン）がメニューにあった事！

 

発砲性の赤ワイン、ランブルスコ。

 

すっきり飲みやすい辛口で２杯もお代わりしてしまいました。

ふわっふわのフォカッチャ（写真撮り忘れました 　)　が１０ドルとなかなかこちらも良いお値段。

 

前菜がサラダやお馴染みの生ハムとメロン等９種類程あります。

 

今回は

・ズッキーニの花のフライ、リコッタチーズ入り

・豚肉のミートボール緑のサルサソースとパルメザンチーズ添え

・いちじくとリコッタチーズのはちみつとブラックペッパーがけブルスケッタ　を。

 

ズッキーニのフライリコッタ―チーズ入り。

 

揚げたてのズッキーニの花の間からトロッとリコッタチーズがとろけ出してワインと合うのなんのって！

 

豚肉のミートボールサルサソースとパルメザンチーズ添え。

 

ミートボールもピリ辛のサルサソースと合ってこちらもなかなか美味。

 

いちじくとリコッタチーズのブルスケッタ。

 

見た目がデザートの様な盛り付けのいちじくとリコッタチーズのはちみつとブラックペッパーかけブルスケッタ。

 

いちじくの甘さとリコッタチーズが程よくマッチしてこちらもワインが進む前菜でした。

 

続いてプリモはピザ若しくはパスタから選べます。

 

ピザを頼んでいる人が多かったのですが今回はパスタをチョイス。

 

私達はカッチョ エ ぺぺ（ペコリーノチーズとブラックペッパーを和えたパスタ）を。

 

こちらがカッチョ エ ぺぺ。

 

Tonnarelli(トナレッリ）というローマの東にあるアブルッツォ地方で有名なパスタでイタリアでは

spaghetti alla chitarra（スパゲティ・アッラ・キッタラ：キッタラはギタ―の事でパスタをギターの弦の様な

物が張ってある道具で作る事から来ている）と呼ばれているパスタを使っています。

 

このパスタは特にこのカッチョ エ ぺぺに使われる事が多い様です。

 

やや太めのこしがあるパスタでペコリーノチーズがうまく絡み合ってしつこく無くペロっと食べられる一品。

 

セコンド（メイン）は肉か魚から選べます。

 

今回はスタッフお勧めの豚の肩肉のステーキ、パプリカ乗せをオーダー。

 

色鮮やかなパプリカがわんさかと乗った豚肉のステーキ。

 

こちらのステーキ。やや脂身が多かったものの塩加減も丁度良くて柔らかく、グリルしたパプリカとも合う一品。

 

赤ワインが進むお料理でした。

 

前菜からメインまで一ひねりしているメニューで味も美味しくてどれもまた食べたい！と思わせる内容でした。

 

味にうるさい友人も大満足。

 

デザートを勧められましたがお腹の余裕が全く無く、次回のお楽しみにとオーダーを断念。

 

「Felix」の人気の原点とは？

何故ここまでこのレストランが人気なのか。

 

競争が激しいフード業界の中で予約がなかなか取れない店であり続ける理由は何なのか。

 

食事中にずっと考え、レストランの雰囲気やスタッフの対応を観察していてふと感じたのが

 

・気取らずにカジュアルな雰囲気の中で友達とワイワイシェアしながら食事を楽しめる

・お料理に工夫があって目で楽しめてさらにどれも美味しい

・スタッフがきびきびとそしてプライドを持って働いている

・スタッフにどんな質問をしても（ワインやお料理の内容）即答出来て教育が行き届いている

 

という点。

 

気持ち良く食事が出来てまた来たいと思わせるお店作り。

 

ゲストが何を求めて何に満足するのか何をしたらリピートしてくれるのか。

 

そうしたマーケット調査がきちんと出来ているからこそこの競争社会で成功しているんだろうなあ感じました。

 

次回いつ予約が取れるかわかりませんがまた行ってみたいと思っています。
