I would like to introduce a new ice cream shop called “Capri Gelato & Coffee Bar” in Marina Del Rey, California.

Coincidentally, I got a free local newspaper, and then I found an article about this new place.

I’m so curious, and it’s near my house, so I went there with my husband a few weeks ago.

This ice cream shop on a big street called Lincoln Blvd, and it is close to the 90 Freeway.

Also, there is a parking lot behind the shop so we can get there by car. Actually, most of the small stores and restaurants don’t have any parking spaces.

So it is hard to find to park my car. However, at this place, you can park a car and then we can take your time to choose ice cream and buy some

The owner, Remi Zimmerman, visits Capri every summer. He fell deeply in love with the ice creams, which he tasted there.
He started his career in 2019 with a mobile gelato and espresso cart at the Golden Gloves award show. That was a big hit among the celebrity crowd and ultimately paved the way for the successful storefront.

He chose the Marina Del Rey waterfront community because the vibe of this place is similar to Capri.

He opened this new ice cream shop on October 17, 2020. He intentionally opened this new place during the Covid pandemic because he wants to expand his tasty ice cream in the U.S. and make people happy.

Now in California, the government has announced a “Stay at home order,” so we hardly ever go on a trip. He wants to create a vacation-inspired spot and make customers excited to have Italian gelatos that remind them of a place or experiences they have enjoyed in the past.

So the shop hangs a map of Capri, and it is decorated with lemons, so customers can feel Italy’s inspiration. Customers can feel like they are spending time in an Italian gelato place like at an Italian resort.

Many flavors and recommendations

They have Gelato and Sorbet as well. There are many flavors in the showcase. So it is so hard to choose from them! Also, they have vegan and non-dairy products.

The gelato menu changes every two weeks so that everything remains in a season. All of the ingredients are fresh and locally grown, and many ingredients are from farmer’s markets.

There is a recommendation menu on the wall.

Now we cannot taste samples due to the coronavirus.

Well, I asked one of the staff about the popular flavor.

The most popular flavor is called “Passionfruit Goat Cheese” The owner, Remi, found this flavor in Capri. He was impressed by it! The goat cheese matches the sour taste of passionfruit.

The next popular flavor is called “Stracciatella,” which is prepared with a rich taste of milk and chocolate chip. Melt the creamy vanilla gelato and chocolate sorbet inside your mouth!

I am a big fan of passionfruit, so I chose Passionfruit Goat Cheese without hesitation. For my second scoop, I picked Pistachio, and then 70% Dark Chocolate flavor. In the passionfruit Goat Cheese, you can feel a bit of goat cheese aroma. It matches with the sour taste of passionfruit. Pistachio is rich and savory. The Dark Chocolate is less sweet and quite tasty. I will definitely go back there again.

Aside from ice creams, the store has a variety of other menus, including coffee, pastries, toast, and so on. They open at 8:00 AM so they serve a breakfast menu.
