My favorite beach resort “Laguna Beach”

Happy New Year 2021 🌅

We said goodbye to 2020 which we have been struggling with this pandemic. We welcomed the new year with optimistic feelings. Have you decided on some new resolutions, or what would you like to do this year?

I want to challenge some new goals aggressively.

Well, extremely out-of-season, I would like to write about a resort at this time. The resort in the city of Laguna Beach. I wanted to write about this in the summer but I missed the timing・・・

There are many beaches in the Southern California area from San Francisco in the north to San Diego in the south.

Speaking of Los Angeles beaches, we have famous beaches like Venice, Santa Monica, and Malibu is notable because many people from the entertainment industry live there.

If we head up to the North near Malibu, we can find a nice and clean beach. However, Venice Beach or Santa Monica Beach is dirty from a lot of litter sand, and the water is not clear.

During the busy summer season, those beaches are filled with many tourists (Now there are so quiet and without tourists.) Also, we can find many homeless people on these beaches. So I do not feel comfortable.

Laguna Beach is perhaps the loveliest beach and we can visit on just a one-day trip.

I visited Laguna several times to see Art festivals which are held every summer. The vibe of this beach is similar to my home town of Zushi in Japan. So that is why I love this beach so much.

These are the venues of Art Festivals. Now they are closed due to the COVID pandemic.

This is a lighthouse which is a symbol of Laguna Beach.

These are the reasons that I love this place

☆ The water is so clear

☆ The beach is not big, not small, just my size. And we can relax.

☆ It is not filled with tourists and I found the beach to be quiet.

☆ Many hotels face the beach, and you can see a beautiful ocean view and an excellent sunset view!

We can relax every time at this beach.

Well, Laguna Beach is in Orange County, about 60 miles south of where we live in West Los Angeles. It takes around one hour from the city by car.

My favorite hotel in Laguna Beach

Every time we visit Laguna Beach, we stay at a hotel called “The Inn At Laguna Beach”, which is facing the beautiful beach.

The entrance of the hotel.

The hotel is in the middle of the town, and we can quickly get to the restaurants, a shopping mall, a gas station, and so on. So, we stay at this hotel every time.

It is close to the beach, and within walking distance, there are some restaurants, cafes, and Starbucks. Highly recommend you if you want to stay in Laguna Beach.

The exterior of the hotel and the way to the beach.

We can walk to the beach within a few minutes from the hotel. Also, the hotel provides beach umbrellas, beach chairs, and towels free for guests.

We borrowed a beach umbrella, beach chairs, and a Boogie board.

If you are bored of staying at the beach, you can use the hotel’s pool and jacuzzi. The water in this pool is seawater. So, if you don’t want to be covered with sand, you can stay at the poolside. You can enjoy your stay at the pool like you relax at the beach

Each room is not so big. The hotel has a total of 70 rooms with many varieties of rooms. For example, you can get an ocean view room or a room with a cozy patio, and so on. Please check the specific information from their web sites as below.

This is a King size bedroom.

This is a Queen size double bedroom.

Depend on which room you select, the bathroom has only a shower or bathtub.

This is a bathroom with a shower space.

This bathroom has a bathtub.

I am always annoyed that most of the hotel rooms in the U.S. don’t have any space in the washroom to put out my stuff such as cosmetics, toothbrushes, and so on. However, this hotel has a lot of space so there is nothing to worry about to put your stuff.

There is not only in the washroom but also the closet has a lot of space. This makes women happy, I think.

Abundant storage space in the closet.

Also, they have a rooftop bar and serve some drinks as a happy hour for free for the guests.

Enjoy wine watching the beach and the sunset. There is no doubt you can enjoy and satisfying stay in Laguna Beach for sure!

The great sunset view from the roof terrace.

Highly recommended restaurant and café

Laguna Beach is a small town. So, if you stay at a hotel which faces the beach, you can get to the restaurants, a shopping mall easily. I would like to recommend a Mexican restaurant called “Las Brisas” It is almost next to the Inn At Laguna Beach Hotel.

This is the entrance of Las Brisas

They have a terrace bar which we can see the ocean view from the table. If you go there at sunset time, you can enjoy the great sunset view with having dinner! There are many varieties of the menu from seafood or meat dishes. Everything that we ate tasted very good.

From the terrace bar seeing the sunset.

I love this Pinacolada. It is sweet less. I always order it.

A dinner from some time ago. Ceviche, Shrimp grits, and New York-style cheesecake.

They open at breakfast time, so you can enjoy pancakes or eggs benedict for brunch as well.

I would like to suggest you one more place called Urth Café. This chain has several stores in Los Angeles county. They serve bakery and cakes as well. We always go there and have a brunch after checking out of the hotel.

The entrance of the café. And showcases for bakery and cakes!

There is a wide opened patio so we can eat outside.

We always order a Salmon benedict and Smoked Salmon plate.
